Local products - Regional crafts

With more than 300 days of sun per year, Arles is a city of the south where life is easy. The special light of the city rhymes with the quality of life here.

Once the warm weather appears in springtime, Arlesians and visitors gather on the terraces of the cafés along the Boulevard des Lices or on the squares in the old city center. The Saturday market is a ritual : in is not only one of the most beautiful markets in Provence, but also one of the largest (two kilometres long). There can be found anything your heart desires : fruits and vegetables, cheeses, flowers and spices, meat and fish, honey, all of the fresh produce and regional products that are such fun to taste, as well as clothing, shoes, fabric, crafts . . .

When shopping at the market on Saturday morning you will be sure to meet the locals, and will want to take time with them to stop and drink a cup of coffee or a soft drink, or, why not, a pastis?

Arles is an invitation to relax, take a stroll and enjoy life!
