The art of "santon" sculpture is closely associated with representations of the Nativity scene.

From November to January the Santonniers’ Salon exposes the nicest creations of the craftsmen not only of Provence but also from far away lands.
The Salon was created in 1958. The exhibits are housed in the rooms of the Saint Trophime cloister and attract thousands of visitors every year. They can admire not only traditional terra cotta compositions, but also contemporary santons made out of all sorts of materials.
